Adding Your Google Plus Page In Google Search Results Using Rel=Publisher

Google+ Pages provides businesses, products, brands, entertainment and organizations with an identity and presence on Google+.
If you’ve created a Google+ page, we strongly recommend linking from that page to your website and vice versa. Linking your Google+ page and your site like this not only helps you build relationships with friends and followers, but also gives Google information we can use to determine the relevancy of your site to a user query in Google Web Search.
Based on Google’s documentation, the way to do this is adding link with rel=publisher attribute in the head element of yor page.
Prerequisites For Using rel=”publisher”
- you have set up a Google Plus Profile
- you have set up a Google Plus Page and set the “website” parameter to be the URL of your website
Webmaster linking
To link your Google+ page to your website:
- Make sure you're using Google+ as your page.
- Click Profile on the left.
- On the ‘About’ tab, click the Link website button next to your website URL.
- The verified webmaster can confirm the link in Webmaster Tools.
Once the link has been approved, you'll receive and email. You'll also see a checkmark next to your website on the 'About' tab of your page's profile.
Steps In Setting Up The Menu Rel=Publisher Link
- Create a bidrectional link by placing the following code snippet in the <head> tag of the site’s HTML
- Tests the results by selecting going to your home page or blog post, and pasting its URL into the Google Rich Snippet Testing Tool.
